Words of Encouragement
Deuteronomy 31:6, 8
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.”
Psalm 91:1, 10-12
He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come night thy dwelling.
For he shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways
They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Isaiah 54:17
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment, thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me saith the Lord.
God’s care for His people goes beyond our human understanding. It expands to all generations, in all situations, and will continue until the Lord Jesus puts in His appearance to take His Bride away.
In Deuteronomy 33:12 we read, “The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by him; and the Lord shall cover him all the day long, and he shall dwell between his shoulders.” This passage reflects the permanent and continuous watchfulness of God eyes over His people.
Safety means being securely protected. You have confidence that God will not leave you unprotected to the dangerous situations in the world or the attacks of the enemy who is always on the prowl. It matters not what form he takes; God is always near [Psalm 46:1] to protect us. He constantly stands guard like a sentinel around us. When we call upon Him in our times of trouble, He not only hears; but He answers us.
Psalm 121: 3-7ff, “He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keeps thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil…” There is no one on earth who can give this kind of constant protection, but God.
God is a preserver and constant protector of His people. We do not have to fear because He is always near. He is watching over us all day long. He covers us with His protective power and shields us from danger. Even when we are face to face with the enemy, we may suffer bruises in battle, but we will always be the winner.
God covers His people with His presence and gives us safety from the enemy who seeks to persecute us daily. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. [Psalm 91:4].
Moreover, when we make God Lord of our lives, the word of tells us, “Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flies by day; nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness; nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday… Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked” [Psalm 91:5-8].
Each passage is an encouragement to the child of God who seeks to please Him and to obey His word. We are fully encouraged that we have no need to fear; rather we are to trust in God who will not fail us. Our God does not slumber nor sleep. He is always ready to help us and to be by our side because His angels keep guard over us all the time.
When we acknowledge God’s protective power, we will safely and confidently, rest in Him [Psalm 37:7]. We will wait upon His will for our life. Moreover, we will boldly hope as we patiently wait; knowing that we are constantly under His watchful eyes; and covered by the Blood of Jesus Christ.
With God, nothing shall be impossible!
