The Lord’s Anointed

I Samuel 26:7-12; Romans 12:17-21

Everyone will be offended by other people at any time in life. There are times when there is that [one] person who pushed us to the limit and we believe that returning the same treatment will be justifiable. Not so with David in this case. Although he was chased by Saul for many years, yet when He had what [appears] to be an opportunity to avenge himself, he did not listen to the voice of vengeance. Instead David decided on allowing God to fight for Him.

When David came upon his enemy, he refused to slay him recognizing that Saul was God’s anointed leader.

In this instance David was being tested because Saul and his men were in a deep sleep placed upon them by God. Many people would have ignored the fact that the leader was anointed and appointed by God, and only He had the power and right to remove him. David knew that had he touched Saul he would have sinned against God.

We can all learn from David when our enemy is vulnerable and we have the advantage. If you are faced with a situation such as this, follow the teachings of Paul in Romans 12:17-21, and allow God to defeat the enemy for you.

Finally, when God places someone in position as a leader of a ministry, church, organization, or country do not try to oust that person because you do not like him/her. It may be on your job where you have the conflict.

Nevertheless, if someone has caused you hurt, go to God, and He will issue the punishment due. Keeping in mind that vengeance belongs to Him.

Prayer

To believers, prayer is a divine appointment with God Who is always present and waiting for us. Prayer is one of the ways in which we communicate with God for worship, meeting of needs, for healing and so many other reasons.

Still, although we have this great opportunity to meet with God, yet we often go into His presence irreverently, with no respect for His holiness. There are also times when our prayers are only about wants, needs, favours and others.

Prayer means more than just about “us.” Prayer time is special and requires purpose, plan and strategy. We must be properly prepared to precede with praise and worship (Psalm 117) even before we make our requests (Philippians 4:6).

We must pray in faith with expectancy (I John 5:14-15). Although we know that our prayer has been heard, we must wait patiently, and hope that in God’s own time our desires will be granted.

Do not prayer without giving thanks.

Listen to hear what God has to say and be diligent to carry out any instructions from the Lord. Listen to the program on Prayer and may you be blessed.

Submit to God

We often face situations requiring us to make decisions concerning our life: present or future. In some of those circumstances we have no time to consider the path to take and we might decide on what seems right for the moment.

However, there are times when we do not have time to even think seriously of what we are asked to do. With Mary, she had such an experience. Knowing that she was in the presence of God’s messenger, she yielded to his request and surrendered her will regardless of the consequences (Luke 1:38).

God wants us His children, to trust His leading and direction for our lives. If we allow His wisdom to control and govern us we will never be sorry for making wrong decisions (Proverbs 3:5-6).

If God has been calling you, or directing you into a path for which you have not responded, why not trust Him and say “yes” to Him today. Will you be a Mary and say to God: “Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word” (Luke 1:38).

Submit to God today. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you (James 4:7-8).

Spiritual Warfare

Spiritual warfare poses a great concern for everyone; but more so for those persons have been attacked by the enemy through his demons [satanic forces]. Satan uses his army of demons to infiltrate the lives of people, regions, corporations, organizations, governments, politics, churches and families. There is no limit to their activities, and they can gain access at any time in any life where there has been an open door.

Spiritual warfare began in heaven when Satan rebelled against God Who threw him out with one third of the angels who joined in his rebellion (Revelation 12:7-10ff; Isaiah 14:12-17ff). Satan took his hatred to the Garden of Eden where he deceived Eve who involved her husband Adam (Genesis 3). They disobeyed God’s command, and from that day sin fell on all creation.

Those fallen angels who rebelled along with Satan are demons which wreak havoc upon earth. They are spirits who are well organized, with great knowledge and super-powers to attack those who are vulnerable or who have sold their souls to the devil.

We can see the evidence among leaders, in the society, and in areas where there is wide display of anarchy and godlessness. Wherever lawlessness exists and thrives, there is the presence of demonic activities.

There are people who have sold their souls to the devil to obtain riches, fame, and power. Satan offered Jesus the same opportunities in Matthew 4; but He rebuked him. Jesus subdued him. All true Christians have the power to overcome satanic forces (Luke 10:19; Revelation 12:11; I Peter 5:8-9; Ephesians 6:12-18).

Demons are unclean spirits working in darkness to impede and cause untold pain and misery to any life or territory where they enter. They need a body to carry out their activities and can attack in a variety of ways; these include unexplained sicknesses, effects of generational curses, emotional situations, and other incidences which often appear without notice.

Demons are well organized in ranks with superb knowledge which they use to deceive and cause misery. The people in whom they work are often unaware of their presence; unless they have deliberately become involved through any aspect of the occult. [There will be another program on this subject].

Psalm 136:1

O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good:
for his mercy endures for ever.

Hatred and the display of evil are of the devil and his desire will only be for to kill, steal, and destroy [John 10:10]

Show someone mercy and goodness today by the words which you speak. If you are a Christian, truly born again, then you should obey the instructions from Micah 6:8.
