The Christian Life

You need faith to survive the Christian journey!

(I Corinthians 15:58)

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

The difficulties of the Christian life are originally spiritual; but they are expressed in natural incidents. Therefore, we need God’s grace to endure the experience which is a walk of faith and supported by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. We need this great Comforter and teacher in the times of distress, and for guidance and direction.

Being enlisted as a soldier for Christ on this journey includes a life of suffering. Still, we have the heroes of faith reported in Hebrews 11 as our example. To remain faithful, we must keep our eyes on Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith. We must be determined and purposeful on this journey so that we do not allow the cares of this life to distract us.

For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds” (Hebrews 12:3).

We are all in this race of life together, and we must determine in our hearts to be faithful, obedient, and loyal to Christ.

It is not an ordinary race to run because it is unique and completely different from any other which you have known. Nevertheless, there is a joyful end for which we can hope if we remain. There will always be challenges which we did not expect, but we must be persistent with our faithfulness, and resilient after each battle. It is only when we finish the race will we hear “well done” which is what we are all expecting to hear. Amen

God’s Love Towards Us

God will Never fail Us!
Even when we fail, He remains the same.

It was love, mercy, and grace which God extends toward sinful mankind when He sent His only Son into the world to die for sinners.

Let us take some time to reflect on this expression of care from God despite our sinfulness. We were not thinking about God, but He had us in mind, and in due time showed that we needed His love even while we were yet in our sins (Romans 5).

There are times when we will go out of our way to help someone who is kind to us.

However, how many will reach out to someone who was unkind and who caused hurt? This is almost unheard of. Yet God in His love reached down and helped us who were astray from His great grace, love and mercy.

The Grace of God

Tutus 2:11-14

For the grace of God that brings salvation hath appeared to all men,
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

What does God’s grace means to you? What do you understand by “grace,” God’s gift to those who will walk steadfastly and faithfully? There are people who are of the opinion that grace is there for anyone whether that person continues to live in sin, or not! Is this true? Grace is for anyone who will obey the doctrine of Jesus Christ and who does not use it as a means to continue in sin.

The question asked remains constant:
“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” (Romans 6:1-2).

Indeed, you cannot continue sinning because of the availability of grace. To have God’s functioning in your life, you must be faithful.  There is a condition for grace to fully operate in the life of the believer. The word states:

If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; (Colossians 1:23).

No one can continue sinning and still have hope of eternal life with the Lord. It will not happen. You must repent and turn away from sin and God will indeed impart His grace through the Holy Spirit to any life that is surrendered to Him. You must deny ungodliness and worldliness to obtain the grace which God gives to keep us saved and in His will. The word has not changed and will never change to satisfy the desires of those who are rebellious and ungodly.

It is time for repentance. Jesus is coming back again and we must be ready.

May we all use the rich and free grace of God appropriately so that it will be effective in our lives.

Have a wonderful day!

Trust in God and Do not Worry

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusts in thee.
Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
(Isaiah 26:3-4)

When we put our trust in the Lord, we know that He will never leave us nor forsake us. Although we often have to face trials and suffering; nevertheless, He is always near with His eyes steadfastly upon us.

What are you facing today which seems impossible? To worry will never change your situation; but if you place it in the hands of the Lord and trust His wisdom and knowledge you will find peace which passes all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7).

God cares about you and His aim is that you will trust in Him and put all your confidence in His mercy. God cannot lie, and even when it may seem long in obtaining answers to your prayers, He does answer. All you need to do is to trust in Him and patiently wait.
